The most powerful attitude: Gratitude

My life overflows with gratitude, this the attitude that transforms the most daunting emotional challenges, unkinking tangled thinking as it frees the spirit.

10 july 2015 diablogWhile there are many reasons, I have to admit that at the top of the list today is the fact that yesterday the oppressive heat wave over Lago Maggiore —it kept many, including me, inside for 4-days— finally broke. There was good news even in the heat, as most of the time was spent painting! So, while my body suffered a bit, my heart was very content! Then last night strong northern winds blew down off the Alps, and not only did I enjoy a lovely walk, I actually went in the lake! Better still is that while drying off on my favourite red bench, I met one of my neighbours, Elsa, who with her beautiful standard poodle, was out for the first time in days as well.
Ever thankful for family and friends, those I dearly love, I’m looking forward to the arrival of Kenneth, Henriette, Jakob and Rasmus who land in Milan this afternoon and arrive here later this evening! While our time together will be short because tomorrow morning I fly to the USA on an important business trip –something else I am profoundly grateful for– it warms my heart to know they’ll be enjoying this piece of Heaven on Earth and caring for Ms. Mouse and my garden!
